I decided to paint them with chalk paint because i was sure it would adhere really well to the laminate. Annie sloan chalk paint will adhere beautifully to laminate. We ve all seen some great results from painted wood floors but can you paint laminate floors. I used the same paint that i used on my antique trunk makeover which i shared during last weeks post.

This is a must have if you re trying to adhere any kind of paint to laminate. There are few steps involved in painting the laminate furniture with chalk paint clean the furniture well with the water and let it dry since it is laminate wood there is no need to sand it so you can skip this step but if you are going to paint the normal wood then you can sand it a little bit. Here are a few examples of this. Both of these pieces are laminate so they are not solid wood.

Annie sloan chalk paint will cover anything including laminate. With chalky paints sanding is usually not required but to get a long lasting finish on the laminate a light sanding is still a really good idea. It s important not to get flooring paint mixed up with wall paint when you head out to pick your supplies. And don t worry it s incredibly easy to distress the piece later with this primer.

It is important to choose the right paint for your laminate flooring materials. Laminate flooring doesn t last forever and when it starts to show wear and tear the drop off in its visual appeal can be steep and fast. And the satin enamels provide. All i do is clean my piece to remove any residue or dirt and then apply the paint.

The key is to let the paint sit longer between coats. I have painted a few things with it. It gives the surface a little bit of a grip that will adhere to most any paint but works especially well for chalk paint. Chalk paint is famous for sticking to just about anything and in this case it makes the perfect primer between the laminate surface and the satin enamels paint.

It s easy to apply and dries quickly.
